Νew Acropolis Museum
Το νέο Μουσείο της Ακρόπολης είναι στο σύνολό του 23.000 τ.μ. και διαθέτει εκθεσιακούς χώρους με εμβαδόν 14.000 τ.μ. ενώ πληρεί όλες τις τεχνικές προδιαγραφές που απαιτούνται από ένα παγκόσμιο μουσείο του 21ου αιώνα.
Η αρχιτεκτονική του Μουσείου επιδιώκει την οπτική σύνδεση των εκθεμάτων του με τον βράχο και τα μνημεία της Ακρόπολης. Συγχρόνως, επιτρέπει την πανοραμική θέαση των ιστορικών λόφων και των βουνών της Αττικής, αλλά και του σύγχρονου αστικού περιβάλλοντος.Για τα ευρήματα της αρχαιολογικής ανασκαφής προβλέφθηκε μουσειακή παρουσίασή τους μέσα στον ανασκαφικό χώρο.
Η κατασκευή ολοκληρώθηκε το Σεπτέμβριο του 2007 ενώ η μεταφορά των εκθεμάτων πραγματοποιήθηκε το διάστημα Οκτωβρίου 2007 – Σεπτεμβρίου 2008. Η έναρξη της λειτουργίας έγινε στις 20 Ιουνίου 2009.
The new Acropolis Museum is a total of 23,000 sq.m. and has exhibition spaces with an area of 14,000 sq.m. while meeting all the technical specifications required of a 21st century world museum.
The architecture of the Museum seeks the visual connection of its exhibits with the rock and the monuments of the Acropolis. At the same time, it allows a panoramic view of the historic hills and mountains of Attica, but also of the modern urban environment.For the findings of the archaeological excavation, a museum presentation was planned in the excavation site.
The construction was completed in September 2007 while the transfer of the exhibits took place between October 2007 – September 2008. The opening of the operation took place on June 20, 2009.
